This extremely successful (if unorthodox) fly is tied using three lengths of vivid red flexi-floss. These flies are tied to be very small (using the finest diameter flexi-floss we could find) to imitate as closely as possible the natural. We know that some of you like to customise your flies, so these are tied with extra-long legs (which you can either fish as they are or cut down to a size you think is best). A deadly bug selection originally inspired by Frank Sawyers creations, and then improvised by Tenkara Guides in Salt Lake City, they decided to reimagine Sawyer's weapon of mass destruction. They kept the concept – simple, translucent wool over bright underbody – but modernised the materials. These flies are great all year round flies and work especially well for those tricky late season wild fish and early season Grayling.

This fly accounts for fish in virtually every river and stillwater, due to is weight and profile. With copper wire twisted around the hook shank, this gives the fly a uniform weight distributed throughout the fly, and more importantly, gets the fly to the depth where the fish are (especially in early season when the fish are not looking up so much)! Even in the smaller sizes, this fly penetrates the water and sinks.
