The Zig Nymph Selection - from Barbless Flies
As you can see from the nymph images, these have been tied with a foam head, which covers half of the hook shank, and a thin body - along with a few legs and a flashy tail - which perfectly imitate ascending nymphs.
The nymphs are ideal when fished 'popped up' from the lake or river bed - see diagrams for more details on the rigs to use.
These flies will work in any conditions and any style of fishing - but they excel for early-season trout on rivers and on stillwaters when the fish are sitting deep and looking for food just off the bottom.
Here we present our Zig Nymph Selection, comprising 3 each of four different patterns:
- Olive Zig Nymph: 3 x size 14
- Pink Zig Nymph: 3 x size 14
- Red Zig Nymph: 3 x size 14
- Rust Zig Nymph: 3 x size 14
