Another nymph with a difference from Stan, the Gallic Grub.
This fly is tied to perfection (as is usual with any of Stan's flies) - and he's been experimenting again!
Let me introduce you to Stan's Gallic Grubs, available in 3 different 2mm glass bead variations:
- Chocolate
- Copper; and
- Metallic Olive
Our selection of Stan's Gallic Grubs are all tied on Dohiku HDG645 size 16 barbless grub hooks.
A great fly to try at this time of year. This style of grub is found in all of our rivers (and Stillwaters), with Grayling (and Rainbow Trout) gorging on them as they become dislodged. Trundle one of these along the riverbed and hang on!
This grub imitation is ideally used as a dropper or point fly in any setup (and also great for sight nymphing in slower flows). Don't forget about using these on stillwaters also - a figure-of-eight retrieve on a floating line keeps them moving naturally.
These imitations are all tied on size 16 barbless Dohiku HDG645 grub hooks.
