Claret Shipmans Buzzer - Tied with white filaments at both ends with a claret body and tinsel rib. Looks scruffy, but works!
The Shipmans Buzzer, created in the 1970’s by Dave Shipman to imitate chironomid hatches on Rutland Water, these can be fished in a number of different ways:
- Dry: On a floating line (think of them as a dry fly) gink them up and fish them high on the water. Let the wind drif the fly (or flies), or retrieve very slowly.
- Emerging: Gink up half of the buzzer and fish half in/half out.
- Wet: Apply Xink to the buzzer and fish it sunk.
This fly is only available in size 12.
