Another nymph selection with a difference from Stan, the French 'Fancy' Grayling Nymph (aka The Bip-Bop Nymph).
The French Grayling / Bip-Bop Nymph Selection features 18 French Grayling nymphs, all tied with a shimmering pink opalescent body in 9 colour variations of ultra-durable 2.0 mm glass beads - All tied on size 16 Dohiku HDG645 barbless hooks.
Particularly effective for Grayling and stillwater rainbow trout, although its flashy appearance may be a little too bold for spooky wild brown trout.
This fly is tied to perfection (as is usual with any of Stan's flies) - and he's been experimenting again!
These French Grayling fancies are tied on a Dohiku Size 16 heavy-wire barbless hook, with a 2.0 mm premium glass bead, carefully selected dubbing.
Please Note: The images show each fly in a group of three, this selection contains 2 of each colour.
Each fly is tied for maximum consistency, durability and a clean natural profile.
Let me introduce you to Stan's French Grayling / Bip-Bop Nymphs, it contains 2 each of the following colours (18 flies in total):
- Blush Pink
- Copper
- Kumquat Orange
- Mint Green
- Pearl White
- Proper Pink
- Pure Gold (not real gold!)
- Simply Black; and
- Sterling Silver
Each nymph is tied with a specialist opalescent pink body.
A great fly to try at this time of year. This style of nymph is really successful during late-Autumn and Winter, with Grayling gorging on them. Trundle one of these along the riverbed and hang on!
This nymph imitation is ideally used as a dropper fly in any nymphing setup (and great for sight nymphing in slower flows). Don't forget about using these on stillwaters also - a figure-of-eight retrieve on a floating line keeps them moving naturally. These imitations are all tied on size 16 barbless Dohiku HDG645 hooks.
