Bosnian 'Secret' Summer Olives - from Barbless Flies
On my local small stream, it's been quite challenging fishing lately, especially with the recent hot weather and low water levels we're experiencing in North Yorkshire. With the low levels, I am finding that when the fish are playing hard to get, the "go-to" tactic is to go smaller and more imitative. Using a longer leader allows for a more gentle presentation, especially when combined with a longer, lighter rod - employing this method, I've caught in mornings, afternoons and evenings on these 'Secret' Bosnian Olives.
- Hook: Dohiku HDD 301, size 16
- Body Tying Thread: Troutline Champion 8/0 – Colour A7 (Moss Green) or A11 (Sand)
- Head Tying Thread: Veevus GSP 30D – Black
- Tail: Coq de Leon fibres
- Body: Smoothly Wrapped Thread (A7 or A11) to form a slim, tapered profile
- Wing: 4 Class-1 CdC Feathers (Natural) - tied upright for excellent flotation
- Thorax (Legs/Front): Natural Squirrel Dubbing
