We don't do this very often, but every now and then a piece of equipment comes along that really catches our eye. This is one of them, a specialist river rod, made for those small streams where tight accurate casts are the norm.
Ok, so why should you be interested, "I've already got loads of rods" I hear you say, well here's a quick overview:

This specialist river rod was originally designed by Massimo Magliocco specifically for the Italian Style of Casting, where they use short rods, generating fast line speeds during the cast. However, it was quite quickly recognised that when fishing any small to medium-sized stream, where the majority of casts are not conventional, this rod really came into its own. I've been using this rod over the last 2 weeks and absolutely love it, so much so, I'm keeping one for myself (so we now have one less available to buy)!
If you fish in a small stream it is important to make as a few false casts as possible to avoid scaring the fish but, to achieve this goal, a slow rod or too fast won't help you, so you need a rod that you can load in the best way that helps you to manage a very fast line sped - the Ghibli 7'6'' #3 at the moment is one the best rod for the job.
These rods are made from Graphene the very latest in material technology:
"Since its discovery in 2004, this Nobel-prize-winning material has been used in Formula One race cars and Nasa space shuttles. Due to its tightly-packed carbon atoms, graphene exists as a sheet at only one atom thick. Despite its two-dimensional properties, graphene is widely regarded as the strongest material ever tested."
This gives the rod's power and lightness. Each rod comes supplied with two tip sections so the angler is never without a replacement in case the worst should happen.
There are a few very nice touches to the rods themselves, the main one being the reel seat. They have a screw locking seat made of wood (to fit the reel you unscrew the end cap of the butt and this then makes room to fit the foot of the reel between this guides, you then screw the end cap tight again), this means the reel is always positioned towards the very end of the rod and the reel seat is always at its shortest position, making everything more compact and line handling easier.
Line Suggestions:
Even though this rod is rated at a 3wt, we were recommended to try a 4wt DT line on it and it completely transformed the rod, it was incredible (not sure if it was our less than average casting ability or the rod being rated as a 3wt for Italian casting - where they generally underline their rods). But, using the 4wt DT allowed us to make pin-point casts at distances up to 35ft (which is the furthest we can really fish at on most small streams).
