"Finally he opened his box for me to take a look inside and I was astonished by the nymphs he was fishing with - they really did look just like insect larvae, with different tones of rings on the body. I admit that my old pheasant tails are good nymphs but these were really extraordinary, and in a range of incredibly realistic colours: dark green, chocolate, dirty yellow - just like real caddis nymphs." - Stanislas Freyheit
For these Barbless Ceramic Trout Flies, our friend Stanislas Freyheit has tied another special selection of barbless ceramic nymphs especially to target brown trout (using quality barbless hooks).
Ceramic flies are a new introduction to the UK (but they originate from France where they have been successfully used for both Grayling and Brown Trout). They are made with lead wire which is then coated with a polymerised UV cure to provide their hard ceramic shell. The surface of the body is totally smooth, this feature allows them to sink faster and deeper than any other nymphs. Ceramic flies account for lots of fish on the continent because their body is made of alternate clear and dark rings which imitate the caddis and mayfly larva's found in UK rivers.
These flies are only available individually in sizes 14 and 18. Just click on "add to cart" and then adjust the quantity in your cart.
