The Squirmy Worm is tried and tested on Stillwaters across the UK with great success, a classic worm imitation. This version is tied on a barbless hook, with two legs and gold bead, and now available to us normal anglers!

We know some people class using this fly as "cheating", but don't worry, we won't tell anyone if you don't - we will also mail them in plain packaging, so even the postman doesn't know!

This nymph is tied based on competition experience, it was developed for early season trout (and late season grayling) when fish are searching for consistent food, the water is generally high and coloured. This fly is a must have for anybody who wants to catch fish. With very high mobility in water (due to the material used).

Squirmy Nymphs have been very popular for the last 2 years, when some international competitors won using it when other nymphs and flies failed. The flies are tied on barbless jig hooks.

How to use it:

  • Squirmy Nymphs work for both trout and grayling
  • Use the Squirmy Nymph when the level of water is higher than normal
  • Squirmy Nymphs should also be used also when water is coloured
  • Always use as a point nymph, with a lighter fly on a dropper (where allowed)

  • On some waters in the UK this fly is banned so please check before you use it
  • Do not expose the fly to excessive sunlight, as this can fade the rubber

This nymph in a size 12 weighs 0.51g

The blank saver - Very often used in competitions whenever the conditions are less than optimal and is often a blank saving fly!
